Title: The Boundary Dual of a Local Bulk Operator

Abstract: In the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence, we provide a procedure to determine if a given nonlocal operator in a large N CFT is dual to a local bulk operator for the geometry associated with a particular code subspace of the field theory. Previous work in this area falls short: the extrapolate dictionary identifies the dual of local bulk operators only at infinity while the HKLL construction requires knowledge of the exact bulk metric. Our method circumvents these difficulties by relying only on the quantum error-correcting structure of boundary operators. Additionally, we are able to use our technique to reconstruct the causal structure of the bulk (and thus find the bulk metric up to a conformal factor).
