Abstract: The formalism of bocses, i.e. "bimodules over categories with coalgebra structure", allows one to assign to any quasi-hereditary algebra A a semi-free differential graded algebra E(A). I will show that the dg algebra assigned to the algebra Ringel dual to A is the truncation of the dual of the bar construction of E(A). I will use the precise construction of the Ringel dual bocs to provide restrains on the Ext-algebras of standard modules over curve-like quasi-hereditary algebras. These form the smallest class of quasi-hereditary algebras closed under Ringel duality and containing quasi-hereditary algebras associated to birational morphisms of smooth surfaces. This is joint work with Julian Kuelshammer.
