Title: Crepant resolution and the McKay correspondence
Date (JST): Thu, Mar 08, 2018, 15:30 - 17:00
Place: Seminar Room A
Abstract: In 1979, John McKay observed a correspondence between a finite group of SL(n,C) and a Dynkin diagram, that is, a simple Lie algebra. We can also make a quotient singualrity by the finite group and it is known as a rational double point. The minimal resolution is also related to Dynkin diagram and we call it McKay correspondence. In this talk I would like to introduce the correspondence and three dimensional generalization which was based on the results in the classification theory of algebraic varieties and superstring theory.
