Abstract: The growth of galaxies via star formation is controlled by the growth of the central black hole via accretion.
This AGN feedback is required match the observed properties of galaxies, and must depend on the physics
of the feedback mechanism, yet most cosmological simulations input this energy simply as a fixed fraction of the
accretion power. I propose a physical model for feedback from winds from the accretion flow (quasar mode).
I will speculate on how we might also develop a physical model for relativistic jets (radio mode) to make a fully
predictive model for feedback power as a function of black hole mass, mass accretion rate and spin for input into
the cosmological simulations.
