Abstract: We explore the physics of the away-from-jet region which has various applications in collider physics. Soft gluons emitted from jets at wide angle are sensitive to the so-called non-global logarithms. We first point out a striking resemblance between the evolution equations which resum non-global logs and the BFKL/BK equations derived in the context of high energy (Regge) scattering. Using the AdS/CFT correspondence, we show that this similarity can be elevated to an exact mapping between jet physics and high energy scattering, and discuss some phenomenological applications at weak coupling.
