A Holographic Dual of Bjorken Flow
|
Abstract: |
We construct a consistent holographic dual of Bjorken flow of an N=4
> SYM-theory plasma. Bjorken flow is the most standard flow of the
> quark-gluon plasma at RHIC and LHC. A holographic model of this flow
> has already been proposed by Janik and other people, but the failure
> of the model has also been reported. We overcome the problem and
> propose a consistent dual. We show that the dual geometry is a
> time-dependent black hole, and the transport coefficients (like shear
> viscosity) of the plasma are determined uniquely by the regularity of
> the geometry. We also demonstrate that the hydrodynamic equation is
> encoded in the 5d Einstein equation at the vicinity of the boundary.
> This is a well-defined concrete example of time-dependent AdS/CFT. I
> believe works along this direction open a possibility to use gravity
> as a new tool of studying unsolved problems in fluid dynamics like
> turbulence. (Reference: arXiv:0807.3797)
