Title: Holographic Quantum Effective Actions
Date (JST): Tue, Oct 01, 2013, 13:15 - 14:30
Place: Seminar Room A
Abstract: The AdS/CFT correspondence allows in principle to compute the quantum effective action for gauge invariant operators in a strongly coupled theory in the large-N limit, by performing classical computations in General Relativity.
In this talk I will review the holographic calculation of the quantum effective potential for a scalar operator, and show how to extend the result to momentum-dependent terms in the effective action, such as the Einstein and Kinetic terms. I will briefly comment on how the Wilsonian picture is naturally realized in AdS/CFT.
