Title: DW theory using cohomology with coefficients in Picard groupoids
Date (JST): Tue, Nov 19, 2013, 10:30 - 12:00
Place: Seminar Room A
Abstract: This is a new view on an old topic: Dijkgraaf-Witten (DW) theory, a gauge theory with a finite gauge group. I will report on a joint work with my graduate student Amit Sharma in which we define cap product between homology and cohomology with coefficients in Picard groupoids and use it to construct a DW theory in arbitrary dimension. The Picard groupoid for DW theory is the groupoid of hermitian lines. The big goal is to construct DW theory for coboridsms with corners, thus building an example of an extended TQFT.
