Title: Counting curves in terms of modular forms
Date (JST): Wed, Jun 04, 2014, 13:30 - 15:00
Place: Seminar Room B
Abstract: I shall talk about how to count curves in certain non-compact CY 3-folds by using the holomorphic anomaly equations and mirror symmetry conjecture.
I will explain why the generating functions are (quasi) modular forms and what kind of (quasi) modular forms they are, for these examples. Some interesting consequences of the modularity of these generating functions will also be discussed. This is based on joint work with M. Alim, E. Scheidegger and S-T Yau.
