Title: ADE Little String Theory and Triality
Date (JST): Tue, Mar 24, 2015, 12:00 - 13:30
Place: Seminar Room A
Abstract: ADE little string theory of (2,0) type aries in a limit of IIB string theory in certain background. Some aspects of the dynamics of the theory should be captured by theories on its defects (the defects originate with D-branes in string theory). A mathematical test of this idea leads to a triality of correspondences — which we prove — between objects that arise in different areas of mathematics: (1) instanton counting and (2) J-functions in Gromov-Witten theory (of K-theoretic type) and (3) (q-deformations) of conformal blocks of W-algebras of ADE type. The relation to W-algebras is anticipated by (ADE variant of) AGT correspondence since the low energy limit of little string theory is the (2,0) conformal field theory in six dimensions.
