Title: The Distant Universe Revealed by Hubble Space Telescope
Date (JST): Wed, May 11, 2016, 15:30 - 17:00
Place: Lecture Hall

Abstract: Initially believed to be unlikely to make major contributions at high redshift, Hubble Space Telescope did demonstrate that its deepest images could reveal important characteristics of distant galaxies. The history of the original Hubble Deep Field and its successors will be recounted up to the current Frontier Fields imaging of moderate distance clusters of galaxies that are gravitationally lensing and magnifying the most distant, early galaxies.
