| Abstract: | The orbit method was introduced by Kirillov in the 1960s and relates the representation theory of Lie groups and symplectic geometry. In this talk I will discuss the orbit method for real reductive Lie groups. In particular, we describe characters of certain infinite-dimensional representations in terms of orbit geometry. |
