Title: A quantum refinement of equivariant cohomology

Abstract: The Duflo homomorphism quantizes the Poisson algebra of symmetric polynomials on a Lie algebra to the enveloping algebra, in such a way that the restriction to the centers is a ring isomorphism. In this talk I will first review the Duflo homomorphism and its relation to equivariant cohomology. I will then introduce a refinement of equivariant cohomology based on the universal affine vertex algebra and discuss some applications. Interestingly this construction only works at the critical level, where the vertex algebra acquires a non-trivial center.
