Part 1: In the first part of the talk I will give basic facts about F-theory and explain how GUT models can be realized in F-theory.
Part 2: In the second part of the talk I will discuss global SO(10) F-theory GUT models. I will mainly focus on how to systematically construct suitable Calabi-Yau fourfold geometries by making use of toric geometry. Furthermore I will explain how to construct SO(10) models within this framework and comment on some phenomenological aspects of the models.
