Abstract: CFTs with global symmetries simplify considerably in the presence of large quantum numbers allowing the computation of a large class of CFT data via a semiclassical expansion in the inverse powers of the conserved charges. In the first part of the talk, I will show how to set up the large-charge expansion in weakly-coupled theories where it takes the form of a double-scaling limit. Next, I will illustrate how the method can be used to probe dualities in QFT, focusing on the quartic/cubic dual description of the O(N) CFT in 4<d<6 dimensions. Finally, I will discuss the convexity properties of the spectrum of charged operators that lead to a holographic version of the weak gravity conjecture.
