Abstract: The electric and magnetic dipole moments of the electron and the muon are low-energy probes of New Physics (NP) beyond the Standard Model (SM). The recent experimental measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon has indicated the discrepancy with the SM prediction. We study the lepton flavor violation, the leptonic magnetic moments $(g-2)_{\mu,\,e}$ and the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the electron in the Standard-Model Effective Field Theory with the U(2) flavor symmetry. We present numerical discussions of the interplay of NP effect among $(g-2)_\mu$, electron EDM and $\mu\to e\gamma$. It is found that the contribution of the third family is important to the electron EDM and the $\mu\to e\gamma$ decay. The $\tau\to \mu \gamma$ decay is also expected near the present upper-bound.
