Abstract: Six dimensional (0,1) supersymmetric theories serve as a great source for finding exotic theories with exotic moduli spaces.
In turn, some of these moduli spaces are known from the study of nilpotent orbits of exceptional type and as slices in the affine Grassmanian.
The purpose of this talk is to show the richness of such cases and to go over techniques which are developed using the study of brane systems for (0,1) theories.
The methods include physical notions such as
— magnetic quivers
— phase diagrams
— negative charged branes
— small E8 transitions
— discrete quotients
— Higgsing with quiver subtraction
An interesting exceptional sequence arises from these techniques in the form of SU(3) — G2 — SO(7).
I will try to go over these points, if time permits.
