In this talk, I would like to present some research topics on topological and geometric data analysis (TDA and GDA for short). Regarding TDA, I will survey recent developments of persistent homology theory, especially on algebraic generalizations motivated from data science, and several applications on materials science. Concerning GDA, I will present an application of optimal transport theory to characterize cell differentiation process from biological massive data, and show several biological results finding novel genes which play significant roles in the induction of human germ cell systems. |
