Title: The magnetized universe via CMB
Date (JST): Thu, Oct 14, 2010, 15:30 - 17:00
Place: Seminar Room A
Abstract: The origin of cosmological magnetic field has remained a mystery for over 50 years. Primordial magnetic seed, if detected, could offer an alternative probe of the early universe. I will present the numerical construction of a Monte Carlo study for magnetogenesis at the electroweak phase transition, and highlight its results and relations with on-going investigation on electroweak baryogenesis. I will conclude by discussion on future probes for primordial magnetic seed fields in upcoming cosmological/astro-particle experiments such as CMB and high-energy gamma ray.
