Following the work of Kapustin and Witten, we understand that S-duality between gauge theories in 4d exchanges certain boundary conditions labeled by Hamiltonian actions of a reductive group and its Langlands dual. In this talk, we give an introduction to arithmetic applications of this philosophy as proposed by Ben-Zvi--Sakellaridis--Venkatesh, and discuss new automorphic formulae that arise from this perspective. |
