Title: The Quantum Einstein Equations of Loop Quantum Gravity: applications in cosmology and black holes
Date (JST): Thu, Jun 12, 2025, 13:30 - 15:00
Place: Seminar Room A
Abstract: The Quantum Einstein Equations encode the dynamics in the canonical approach to Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG) and are obtained from a canonical quantisation of general relativity in terms of Ashtekar-Barbero variables. The first part of the talk contains a brief introduction on how the Quantum Einstein Equations can be formulated in full LQG, focusing on the differences and challenges compared to the quantisation used in particle physics. In the second part, symmetry-reduced models such as quantum cosmology and quantum black holes are considered. In these cases, the dynamics is simplified and the physical implications of the corresponding Quantum Einstein Equations can be investigated and some recent results in this context are presented.
