Title: Neutrino Interactions and the Nuclei that Affect Them
Date (JST): Mon, Apr 07, 2025, 13:30 - 15:00
Place: Seminar Room A
Abstract: Measurements of cross sections across a broad range of interaction channels can probe both the structure of the nucleus and neutrino interaction models. These measurements also provide key inputs for precision neutrino oscillation experiments like Hyper-K and DUNE, which must predict signal and background processes with high accuracy to extract information about neutrino masses and mixing. The MINERvA experiment measures neutrino-nucleus interaction cross sections on nuclei ranging from hydrogen all the way to lead, and has the capability to isolate individual neutrino interaction channels. This seminar will showcase recent MINERvA results as a function of atomic number A, focusing on interactions that the oscillation experiments rely on to study neutrinos.
