Title: The SDSS Quasar Lens Search and its use as a dark energy probe
Date (JST): Thu, Jan 22, 2009, 13:30 - 15:00
Place: Seminar Room at IPMU Prefab. B
Abstract: I'll present the SDSS Quasar Lens Search (SQLS), our survey of strongly lensed quasars using the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) data. The SQLS has already discovered roughly 40 new lensed quasars, representing the largest quasar lens survey ever undertaken. First I'll describe the survey method and current status, and then I'll show how the SQLS lens sample places independent constraints on dark energy.
