A computation of higher-curvature contributions to effective actions in AdS spaces is discussed. We revisit the terms in string theory whose reduction gives rise to these, and discuss their T-duality properties. Reduction of IIB theory than gives rise to one-loop contributions to AdS_5 effective action (which in turn lead to ~1/N^2 corrections to c-a). Reductions to AdS_4 and AdS_3 are also discussed.
In the "pre-talk", a brief review of the relation between the higher-curvature terms in the effective theories and M5 anomalies will be given.
