Title: Measurement of large scale fluctuation of CMB induced by large scale structure
Date (JST): Thu, Nov 25, 2010, 13:00 - 14:00
Place: Seminar Room A
Abstract: In the CMB temperature fluctuation, we see the region where the temperature is extremely low over the 10 degree scale, called The Cold-spot. In a standard cosmological model, the temperature fluctuation is considered to behave as Gaussian however according to the spherical wavelet analysis, the temperature fluctuation around the Cold-spot is deviated from theoretical prediction with around 3 sigma confidence. We consider that the reason of this deviation is due to the secondary temperature fluctuation induced by large scale structure.
The unnatural signatures in the CMB temperature fluctuation has been found as well:
low quadrupole power, quadrupole-octopole alignment, etc..
We use the 6dF galaxy spectroscopic survey in order to figure out these issues.
