| Abstract: |
The space of Bridgeland stability conditions of a category is naturally non-compact. However, the same physical expectations that led to Bridgeland's definition also suggest that it is interesting to find meaningful compactifications for this space. Bapat, Deopurkar, and Licata propose a method to compactify spaces of stability conditions, in analogy with Thurston's compactification of the Teichmuller space of a Riemann surface. In the talk, I will present the method and construct Thurston-type compactifications for the stability manifold of very general abelian varieties. There is close interplay between the construction and the framework recently proposed by Chuni Li on the geometry of the stability manifold, which I will present briefly and which plays a crucial role in the description of the boundary of the compactification. This is joint work (in progress) with B. Farman, L. Marquand, N. Rekuski, and L. Pertusi. |
