We present an overview of the RIOJA project, JWST (NIRCam and NIRSpec IFS) follow-up observations of a sample of 12 ALMA [OIII] 88 μm emitters at z ~ 6 - 8. Our NIRCam observations use six broad- and/or medium-band filters to trace the rest-frame UV to optical stellar continuum emission. Our NIRSpec IFS (R ∼ 2700 or 1000 depending on the target’s redshift) observations provide spatial information on the rest-frame optical emission lines such as [OII], Hβ, [OIII], Hα. The powerful combination of JWST and ALMA has revealed various interesting results including i) a core region of one of the most distant protocluster at z = 7.9, ii) complicated gas structure of ionized gas that are not traced by JWST or ALMA alone etc. |
