| Abstract: |
The Low-Frequency Array (LOFAR) is a pan-European radio telescope with immense data-collection and processing capabilities, making it an unprecedentedly powerful instrument for conducting the deepest and widest radio surveys at the lowest frequencies accessible from the ground. The Euclid space telescope is currently mapping a large fraction of the optical and near-IR sky at high angular resolution, providing a stunning view of the entire extragalactic galaxy population. In this talk, we present these two survey experiments and discuss very recent results related to the formation and evolution of very massive black holes at the centres of galaxies, and how the outflows from these black holes impact the nature of galaxies and their surroundings. |
