Title: Anisotropic scalings and a theory of quantum gravity
Date (JST): Wed, Jul 06, 2011, 13:30 - 15:00
Place: Seminar Room A
Abstract: I shall give a brief introduction to anisotropic scalings of space and time, and their applications to quantum gravity, proposed recently by Horava, the so-called Horava-Lifshitz (HL) theory. Then, I shall state explicitly its major challenges found so far, and show how they might be resolved in two different approaches, one is with projectability condition, and the other is without. Finally, I shall present some discussions and concluding remarks.
