In this section I will introduce ADHM sheaf theory, which is an alternative construction of Donaldson-Thomas/Pandharipande-Thomas theory on local curves. Certain applications can also be derived from this formalism, including the computations of higher rank Donaldson-Thomas invariants and a recursive way to compute the cohomology of Hitchin moduli space.
