IPMU Colloquium (Interdisciplinary)

Speaker: Shinji Mukohyama (IPMU)
Title: Introduction to Inflationary Universe
Date (JST): Wed, Mar 07, 2012, 15:30 - 17:00
Place: Lecture Hall
Abstract: The purpose of this interdisciplinary colloquium is to introduce the basics of inflationary universe to non-experts. Inflation is an attractive scenario of the early universe, which can solve a number of cosmological problems such as horizon, flatness and entropy problems. One of the primary goals of this talk is to convince audience that they are indeed problematic without inflation. Another primary goal is to explain inflation as a theory of the origin of rich structures in the universe, such as galaxies, galaxy clusters, and large-scale structures. The talk will be concluded with possible future directions.
