Title: New applications of de-Sitter geometry in astrophysics I
Date (JST): Thu, Jun 13, 2013, 15:30 - 17:00

Abstract: Starting from on overview of Lie and Laguerre sphere geometry, I will introduce the notion of the de-Sitter configuration space of spheres. This gives a new perspective on distribution functions of spherical objects in astrophysics. The first example to be discussed is the inverse square power law in the cumulative distribution of impact craters as observed in the solar system.
