Holographic non-local operators

| Abstract: |
We investigate Wilson loops and surface operators in N=4 SYM theory.
There are three different realizations of these operators, namely the
gauge theory path integral definition or the matrix model description,
the probe brane descriptions in AdS5xS5, and the bubbling supergravity
descriptions. We compute various correlation functions in these
different realizations and find remarkable agreement between them.
Furthermore, the correlators show non-trivial quantitative evidences of
the electro-magnetic dualtiy.
