| Abstract: | Asymptotic safety (a.k.a. nonperturbative renormalizability) is a criterion for a quantum field theory to be UV complete. It has been suggested that gravity (possibly coupled to matter) is asymptotically safe. I will describe why this would be desirable and review some of the available evidence. |
