Abstract: Fractional quantum Hall (FQH) system is the most fundamental example of the topological state of matter. The wave function of the FQH system is given as a conformal block of a certain CFT, and the anyonic statistics of its quasi-particle/hole can be described by the fusion rule of the corresponding CFT. In this talk, after reviewing some aspects of the FQH/CFT relation, we would like to present an alternative description of the spin-singlet FQH state using the root of unity limit of the q-deformed CFT.
