Abstract: Non-equilibrium physics is one of the challenging research areas in modern physics. The non-equilibrium steady states (NESS) are the states of the systems which are out of equilibrium but are time-independent in the macroscopic point of view. In this talk, we investigate the properties of NESS which are realized in the gravity dual in AdS/CFT. Typically, NESS are realized on a probe D-brane or a probe fundamental string in the dual geometry. There have been observations that an analogue black hole appears on the probe objects if the system is out of equilibrium and a notion of effective temperature appears from it. We study the behavior of the effective temperature systematically and will report its interesting properties.
