Abstract: The heterotic string is often regarded as the most phenomenologically attractive string theory, due to the presence of gauge bundles wherein the Standard Model naturally embed. The bundle however has a natural back reaction on the geometry through the heterotic Bianchi identity, inducing a torsional geometry. I will review some recent progress in understanding the moduli of these torsional spaces from a supergravity perspective. The moduli space is governed by an effective action derived from the heterotic superpotential, which I will remark upon.
