Abstract: Physical states in theories with supersymmetries saturating Bogomolny-Prasad-Sommerfeld (BPS) bound form a fruitful playground for testing our ideas about behavior of Hilbert spaces beyond perturbative approximation. For numerous families of superstring theories, supergravity theories and supersymmetric QFTs one is able to calculate explicitly by analytic means spectra of BPS states including their masses and other quantum numbers. Not surprisingly, such analytic calculations incorporate various modern mathematical tools establishing a deep connection between physics and geometry. In this talk I will start with reviewing some basic approaches to constructing BPS spectra in 4d theories with 2 supersymmetries, the phenomenon of wall-crossing resembling fission-recombination transition in molecular physics, the role of geometry and an emerging algebra of BPS states structure in these processes. We will conclude with an explicit BPS spectra and BPS algebra constructions for D-brane BPS states wrapping certain families of toric Calabi-Yau 3-folds.
