Abstract: Scattering amplitudes in four dimensional gauge theories have many remarkable properties that are completely obscured by their usual description in terms of Feynman diagrams. Revealing and exploiting these hidden structures has lead to dramatic advances in our ability to compute such amplitudes, and has shed new light on the true nature of the S-matrix. I will present an overview of these structures, concentrating on their relation to twistor space, Wilson loops and Grassmannians.
